De-dusting units for steel foundry
After the installation of a de-dusting unit for the treatment of furan sand two further units have been supplied to the new Werk II of the Hulvershorn Eisengießerei (http://www.hulvershorn.de) in Bocholt.
The special attraction of this project lay in the new foundry which was built as it were on a 'green field' site. For the Münstermann engineers this allowed a high degree of freedom in regard to the design and development of the units and the piping systems. For reasons of the high demand placed on residual dust content the most modern cleaning procedures for the bag chamber filter units were employed.
Two de-dusting units along with accessories, piping and assembly were supplied. The first unit (70,000 Bm³/hour at 5 mg/Nm³) is used to produce furan sand and to clean the gases. Two electric smelting furnaces are de-dusted by the second unit (70,000 Bm³/hour at 10 mg/Nm³). The special characteristic of this unit is a spark separator connected upstream.
Both units are equipped with filling level sensors which report a possible overfilling of the chute or the bottom section to the central control room.
